The work 10 Jumps tests the boundaries between the body, ecological crisis and the “measuring of the world”. The beauty of the water and oxygen is disturbed by “water counter meter” and moving bkack and white images of a dried-up lake on the other channel. People, who do not actively use water and only watch the video also indirectly consume water – as consumers of goods that are produced at the same time, such as food or industrial goods. It’s called “total water consumption” per capita. Animated photos of dried-up lakes were taken in the suburbs of Tijuana / Mexico. There, the construction boom and uncontrolled water consumption are causing areas that are actually rich in water to dry up. In addition, the water in the region is contaminated in some areas so that it must be avoided. Two worlds – both aesthetic and philosophical – collide and create a tense dynamic between man and threatened nature.
