Lost Landscapes / 2023
Lost Landscapes (2023) is a series of digitally manipulated photographic animations, where the logos of extractive companies operating in the North, such as the energy company Vattenfall and mining companies LKAB and Kaunis Mining, are mirrored in the landscapes they exploit. Trembling like mirages, the iconic mountainscapes – often talked about as “Europe’s last wilderness”– appear to be mere empty shells, hollowed out from within and close to collapse. The photos were shoot by the artist in the Sweden Arctic region in 2022 during the residency at Boden, Art Hall “Havremagasinet”.
